A few days ago I posted this yummy Vegan Apple Crumble on my Instagram story. So many of you sent me a DM asking me for the recipe, so I thought I would share it with you all now. Heads up, this is for when you've been healthy all week and feel like being a little bit of a junk food Vegan ;)
It's super easy to make, all you need is:
- 150g (1 cup) plain flour
- 100g (1/2 cup, firmly packed) brown sugar
- 100g cubed Vegan butter
- 50g (1/2 cup) rolled oats
- 60g (1/2 cup) chopped walnuts
- 6 apples roughly chopped (red or green, whichever you prefer)
How to cook your crumble:
Step 1. Preheat your oven to 180°C. Add the flour, sugar and oats into a mixing bowl with a wooden spoon.
Step 2. Rub the Vegan butter into the flour mix using your finger tips until it becomes similar to breadcrumbs. Then, stir in the walnuts.
Step 3. Spoon the apple into your favourite ovenproof dish. Scatter the walnut and flour mixture evenly over the apples. Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes until golden on top or until the apples are soft.
Step 4. While it's still warm, spoon the apple crumble into serving bowls with your favourite Vegan ice cream and enjoy!
Step 5. Go back for seconds ;)
I served this to my boys with yummy Nana ice-cream and they LOVED it (we all did). You could also try adding some cinnamon or nutmeg to the recipe to spice it up a bit.
